Why did you start Streaming?

I, like everyone else spent a lot of time indoors during the COVID pandemic. At the time I knew people streamed video games but I didn't know the magnitude or how strong the communities of a creator can be. Throughout my teens and beyond I suffered from social anxiety which made going out and socializing mentally and physically challenging for me. Initially, I started watching streams to pass time, but as the weeks and months went on I found myself feeling really valued in numerous streaming communities, without the need to be out there physically socializing.

On the flip side, I have a full-time job as a data and projects manager and although it pays the bills it's not something I'm passionate about and I've grown to struggle to wake up during the week knowing I've got a job that doesn't align with my passions or values. So in April of this year, I added the few final pieces to the streaming jigsaw and went live for the first time on April 21, 2023 and haven't looked back since. The long-term goal is to make content creation the full-time gig, but in the short-medium term it's to grow a strong core community, provide a safe place and to entertain people.

What made you stream on Kick?

A lot of the creators I'd watched over the COVID pandemic were Facebook creators. Seeing them take the leap to a newer platform and be seen, heard and see organic growth made me think it was the right fit. The creator-first mentality, the transparency between creator and platform and the ability to earn 95% of revenue made Kick an easy decision. The community I've built to this point is incredible and I don't see myself making content elsewhere.

What kind of Content do you Create?

I mostly create Call of Duty and gaming content but I've also enjoyed just chatting streams and casting streams to spectate tournaments. I focus on being a community-first creator. I know the community regulars by their first name, I know what they do for a living and that family feel is immediately obvious when new people come across the streams.
