Why did you start Streaming?
My journey to becoming a streamer started from something so small that it wasn’t even something I had imagined doing. It all began when I was about 11 years old, living through tough times with my parents. Despite the financial struggles in our household, I was definitely spoiled in the sense that my parents always made sacrifices to give me things I cherished as a child—especially games. I will always love and appreciate them for everything they did for me.
Growing up, it was a constant challenge to make ends meet month to month. Even so, I developed a deep interest in technology. I always dreamed of owning a computer, but by the time I was 13, it seemed impossible because of our financial situation. However, a turning point came when the owner of the apartment building we lived in noticed my interest and saw potential in me. They gifted me my first-ever computer, a Windows 98 PC. I was probably the happiest kid alive.
That computer sparked my fascination with technology, the internet, and gaming. I spent countless hours exploring the world of computers and the online realm. But as time went on, the struggles of wanting to be a gamer grew tougher. My gaming systems and even my computer were sold to help pay rent. Classic games like The Legend of Zelda and EarthBound, which are worth so much now, were sold for mere dollars. At the time, my parents didn’t realize their value, but keeping a roof over our heads was far more important.
By the time I was 16, I became the "man of the house," living with just my mom. I took a job at a shoe warehouse to help make ends meet. From that point on, I’ve never been without a job. Working consistently to help my family meant sacrificing a lot of personal time and dreams, and it took an emotional toll.
At 20, after years of working in small franchises, I landed a job at Costco. For the first time, I felt financially stable enough to afford things I had always wanted. I built my first gaming PC, a dream come true. Around this time, I discovered streaming and was immediately drawn to the idea of gaming while connecting with a community of like-minded people. It wasn’t just about playing games—it was about forming friendships and sharing experiences with others.
I started streaming, and for the first four years on another platform, I averaged about 5–10 viewers and a handful of subscriptions each month. It was a struggle, and I often felt like giving up, thinking it wasn’t going to work out for me. Then, I discovered GTA Roleplay. It allowed me to showcase my skills in communication, humor, and voice acting. I created characters that people loved, and slowly, I started gaining recognition.
After a year of consistent streaming and dedication, I became a partner on that platform and grew my audience to an average of 200–300 viewers. My community supported me every step of the way. Their encouragement gave me the strength to keep going, even when things felt impossible.
As my streaming career took off, I made the life-changing decision to leave one of my two jobs. I had been juggling Costco and an IT job while streaming with very little free time. Finally, in 2019, after nine years of streaming (starting in 2010), I was able to quit Costco and dedicate more time to my passion.
The community I built was the driving force behind my success. Their support and belief in me helped transform my life. What started as a small dream became a career, and I’ll forever be grateful for the journey and the people who made it possible.
What made you stream on Kick?
My journey with Kick began when I first heard about a platform dedicated to empowering content creators—a place where we could truly pursue our passions without losing a significant portion of what we worked so hard to earn. For years, the other platform took half of my earnings each month, which was always a painful reality to face. When I discovered Kick, I saw a chance to rewrite my story and build something meaningful on a platform that valued its creators.
Even in the early days, before the platform introduced a subscription button, I believed in its potential. I knew that being one of the first creators there gave me a unique opportunity to connect with a new audience—people who could easily find someone relatable without scrolling endlessly. Kick offered a fresh start and the possibility to be discovered by those looking for a creator like me.
What initially drew me to Kick was the platform's vision. I saw the dedication of its staff and the promise it held for creators: removing intrusive ads, introducing a 95/5 revenue split, and offering the chance to earn an hourly income as a partner. For the first time, the dream of becoming a full-time streamer felt within reach.
Two years ago, I started streaming on Kick—long before it gained the traction and recognition it has today. In those early days, I pushed my content tirelessly, streaming for months without a single subscriber or even a subscription button. But during that time, I met incredible creators and staff members who supported me and made me feel valued. Their encouragement kept me going.
Fast forward to today, Kick has grown into one of the fastest-rising platforms in the streaming world, attracting top-tier creators transitioning from the other platform. The grind, the belief in this platform, and the support of the community have all brought me to where I am now—a proud partner in Phase 3 of Kick's evolution.
The journey has been incredible, and my heart remains deeply connected to this platform. With every step forward, I’m reminded of why I chose to be here and why I’ll continue to grow alongside Kick’s success.
What kind of Content do you Create?
I create roleplaying content, along with a variety of other shooting games that bring joy, laughter, and heartfelt moments to those who watch. My goal is to provide relatable, feel-good content that puts a smile on everyone who visits my channel. But to me, streaming is about more than just playing games—it's about connecting with people on a personal level. I genuinely care about getting to know my viewers, their stories, and what brings them back to my channel every day to support me. These incredible individuals aren't just an audience; they’ve become family.
What are your top tips for live streaming?
The foundation of successful live streaming lies in valuing your community. Treat your viewers as more than just numbers by engaging with them on a personal level. Learn their stories, make them feel seen, and build relationships that turn casual viewers into a loyal, supportive family. Being relatable and genuine is essential—sharing your own journey and challenges helps connect with your audience on a deeper level, making your content authentic and memorable. Focus on creating quality content that brings joy and relatability to your viewers, as it’s the impact you leave that matters more than the size of your audience.
Adaptability is another key to success. Embrace new opportunities and platforms that align with your goals, just as you did by transitioning to Kick when it offered a more creator-friendly environment. Streaming consistency is crucial, even when facing challenges or limited resources. Sticking to a regular schedule demonstrates your commitment and keeps your audience coming back. Leverage your unique strengths, such as comedic storytelling or voice acting, to stand out and offer something that no one else can.
As your journey progresses, investing in your setup becomes important. Enhancing your audio, visuals, and overall production quality will elevate the viewing experience. Beyond technical improvements, stay engaged with the platform you stream on by connecting with its staff and fellow creators. Their support and insights can be instrumental in your growth. Finally, remember that persistence is key. Success often takes years of consistent effort, so keep pushing forward even when progress feels slow. Streaming is not just about playing games—it’s about creating a space where people feel welcome, entertained, and inspired.
