Why did you start Streaming?

I have always had a passion for games. Since childhood nothing captivated me more than gaming. From learning to read to play Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask to my first MMORPG in 2002 with my Uncle Ol' Marky (where my passion for online gaming began). Gaming has shaped my life and will always be among my favorite things to enjoy.

In 2012 I saw my very first live stream on Twitch and will never forget that moment. I remember thinking to myself that I had discovered something I could shine in. The defining moment for me was watching Kripparrian set the world record for Diablo 3 on hardcore before the nerf patch in June 2012. Seeing the excitement and community around him led me to my own dreams of doing something similar with my love for games, and that evolved into a love for streaming. Since then, I've wanted to be a full-time streamer living a life doing what I love and connecting with people from all over the world through my computer!

If you asked me today why I do this, I would say, "I put myself out there on stream each day with the hope to give people a place to find reprieve from their day to day struggles. I strive to provide a place to relax and for people to be themselves. I am here to give all my fellow gamers and weirdos a place to call home. In doing so, I've found my home too!".

What made you stream on Kick?

In 2022-2023 I was down pretty bad. I had lost my job working as a shipping clerk and also herniated a disc in my spine within a few weeks. While healing from my injury I had a lot of down time and could not do much. I decided I didn't want to return to work when I healed and wanted to push for my stream dream once again.

I pulled together my small amount of savings and began getting all my stream gear and programs setup. Over the course of a few weeks I was giving it my all and polishing my stream as much as possible to be ready for my return to streaming and this time with a goal! I planned to hit live and stream for 1 year, 40+ hours a week with no other job or income to see if I could really establish myself.

By chance that week leading up to getting started, I heard about Kick! I saw what Kick was doing to give some power and money back to the streamers trying to make it in such a competitive space. I loved what I saw and what Kick stands for. So I made the choice to start my one year challenge on Kick. Looking at where I am now, moving to Kick has been one of the best choices I've ever made. My life has changed for the better, and at the time of writing this I am one month away from reaching my goal. No return to work in sight, thanks to my hard work, my incredible community and Kick, I am a fully supported streamer making my way. Kick is the best opportunity for streamers in a very long time, so don't miss it!

What kind of Content do you Create?

My streaming content is focused on creating a relaxing/calming environment. No matter what I play I do my best to provide a cozy experience.

I love to play a wide variety of games. My favorites are primarily MMORPGs, RPGs, RTS, Survival Crafting Building and Horror! I do my best to always interact with chat and create meaningful connections with my audience. I create a place people want to come back to often or even daily so I do my best to be consistent but also to continue to try new things. I enjoy hosting special events for my community and providing a unique experience to keep people having fun and doing more than just watching!

My content outside of streams are focused on highlighting the most fun and memorable moments during my live streams. I upload daily short form content across all platforms to help promote me, my page and Kick as much as I can. I also upload long form content on a regular basis to share my thoughts on many different topics that are primarily game or stream related.

What are your top tips for live streaming?

Be Yourself: This sounds simple but is very important! When you get into content it can be easy to get hyper focused on things like what game you are playing, what trends are happening or what's popular. While it's important to be aware of these things and factor them into your content in your own way, don't forget that YOU are the most valuable part of your stream. If you take the time to highlight your attributes I think everyone has something unique to offer when it comes to streaming.

Be Consistent: When you are a streamer, it's important to remember the value of your viewer's time. If you are lucky enough to have people spend their time with you, then you want them to know they can rely on you. That makes me focus on a few key things: showing up when you say you will; doing what you say you are going to do; doing your best to be a positive example and influence on others; providing a similar and familiar experience for those who chose to invest time, energy or even money into your content. Stay focused on these things and you will see results!

Work Harder: Streaming is a very competitive field to enter. That means to find your community and grow your stream it's going to take a lot of hard work! This is going to require doing things to set yourself apart among your peers. Putting in the hours of work to make videos and to network is key. Hitting live is only part of this business. If your goal is to be one of the best you have to be willing to work harder than the next person. If you don't think it's going to take working every day, working all day to be the best, then you won't be the best. If this is what you really want to do, give it your all.
